This website is a great way to watch any programmes from the BBC that you may have missed. Iplayer displays all the programmes that have been shown on TV within the past week. The videos can be forwarded, rewound and paused for convenience. The picture can be enlarged to fit the whole screen or just a bit larger and the volume can be edited which can be seen in my video below showing how to access and watch a recent programme on Eastenders.

Mobile phones
Not only have the size of mobiles now decreased so that they are more compact and portable but they have many more features that are attractive to buyers.
Many smartphones have applications that can be downloaded for free onto the phone (internet is needed).
Many phones are have coloured games which has changed from the very early phones with basic black and white games.
Some phones also now have planners,calenders and calculators for the convience of the user.
Most mobiles now have cameras and also allow the user to record videos.
Earlier phones did not have these features mentioned above, showing how technology has changed, more people demand the up-to-date latest mobiles with the best gadgets.

The iphone is an example of how much entertainment technology has progressed.
It has an application that can be used for real time video webcam to another user of the iphone. On the iphone screen you can see the image of the other iphone user and they can see your image on their iphone. Many people use this for long distance families to see eachother and speak to eachother for free rather than a expensive phonecall.
Getting to destinitions has also become much easier with applications with maps and satellite navigation services with vocal directions.

Postcodes and areas of the UK can be entered into a search box and the iphone will be able to find a restaurant/place/landmark within seconds.

Recipe applications can be found on the iphone too. You can download recipes to use when cooking or many applications allow you to enter in certain ingredients you have and it will find a recipe that contains those ingredients for you to then cook. This can be easy for people to use up the food supplies they have
This is a great entertainment software item for computers. It is a media player ap
pplication, used for playing and organizing digital music and video files. The application is also an interface to manage the contents on Apple's iPod and iPhone lines, as well as the iPad.
iTunes can connect to the iTunes store via the internet to purchase and download music, music videos, television shows, iPod games, podcasts, films and ringtones (for the iPhone only). Movies can also be rented to watch via iTunes. It can also be used to download applications for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad (see above for some of the applications e.g. Satellite navigation application).
A great benefit of iTunes is that it is free to download. Some of the podcasts and games are free to download.
A criticism of iTunes is that it needs to be upgraded to the latest version.
For your music you can have playlists, this is where you can drag and drop your favourites songs into a folder which can be named, this saves time searching through all the songs to find the certain one you want to listen to each time.

It has a camera, with editing software to add effects to the images. You can add small pictures to the image taken, change the look of the photo and ad d text to the image.

Games can now be bought that are used for daily lifestyles. Cooking games can be used to help talk you through cooking a certain meal. Exercise and personal training games can be used to transfer data from a pedometer and transfer it onto the device to show your results from your daily workout.

The disks hold much more memory than DVDs meaning the picture can be better quality.
Tasks they will be able to perform include:

- Skipping to any place on the disk instantly
- Recording a program while at the same time watching a second program on the disk
- Editing and re-ordering data stored on the disk.
- Search automatically for an empty space on the disk (to avoid overwriting other data on the disk)

sky-tv
Many people now have sky for their television. Sky is the brand name for British Sky Broadcasting's digital satellite television and radio service.
It supplies many programmes of all different types of genre for the viewer to watch including children programmes, live sports, films, music channels, documentaries and much more.
Sky plus is an updated version of sky. For an extra amount of money the customer can pause live tv, this can be convenient if you need to quickly do a task and then come back to the programme.
You can also record programmes and films to watch in the future again and again. You can forward and rewind the programmes you have paused or recorded.

Programmes you have recorded can be set as a series link so that when the next of that programmes is on it will automatically record it for every time it is on television. This is useful for series of programmes that are on once a week, so every week the programmes will automatically be recorded.

| When the programme you want to select to be recorded as a series link is hovered over, when you click the green button on the Sky remote the green arrow will appear on the right hand side of the row showing that in the future it will be continually repeated every time a programme of that series is played on TV. |
Sky TV has had a great effect on the society, it is an example of how entertainment has helped and changed society. Many households have Sky and consider it to be a necessity. It has a few criticisms as if there is bad weather there may be a bad connection and cause a bad picture or not work at all which can be annoying for the customer.
